Dr. Creamer, a licensed psychologist, received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Auburn University in 2002. She completed her internship at the Houston V.A. Medical Center. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, and has also been a member of the Society for the Psychology of Women and the Society for the Psychological Study of Men & Masculinity. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, career/vocational concerns, anger management, and stress reduction. She also has special interest in reproductive issues, sexual concerns/problems, relationships/communication, assertiveness training, and gender issues. Dr. Creamer has many years experience in chronic pain management, including use of biofeedback training and a variety of relaxation techniques. She has extensive experience working with the issues of sexual abuse and physical abuse (with both victims and perpetrators). She has worked as a public speaker, educator, and media consultant on the issue of sexual assault and abuse. Dr. Creamer has a special interest in and extensive experience with personality and intelligence assessment. She conducts testing with children/adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. With regard to psychotherapy, Dr. Creamer provides these services to children age 11+, as well as to adolescents and adults. She is skilled in the use of cognitive therapy with a humanistic-empathic focus, and places emphasis on the quality of the relationship between therapist and client.
